These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of WrenScribe, a private, on-device transcription and medical-reference companion for clinician–patient consultations. By downloading, installing, or using WrenScribe you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License
WrenScribe grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on a device you own or control, for personal or your practice's internal use, subject to these Terms. The one-time purchase, at the price shown in the Mac App Store at the time of purchase, licenses a single device.
You may not, and you must not attempt to: reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, lease, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its contained models; circumvent any security or PIN protections; or copy the app except as permitted by applicable law or the App Store.
2. Use for a licensed clinician
WrenScribe is intended for use by, or for the benefit of, a licensed healthcare professional in the course of their professional duties, and is not appropriate for use by a patient to self-diagnose or replace clinical care.
3. No medical advice; no clinical decisions
WrenScribe is a reference aid only and is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or direct the treatment of any disease or condition, and must not be used as a substitute for professional clinical judgment. Any transcript, summary, note, detected term, or suggested code produced by the app is for the clinician's internal review and must be independently verified before it is relied upon for any clinical or billing purpose.
4. Suggested codes and the EHR connector
- Suggested coding (ICD-10-CM / CPT / HCPCS) is an aid to review, generated on-device from the transcript and detected terms (and, if you enable the EHR connector, from the patient's already-coded active problems). Verify all codes, selections, and modifiers against the clinical record and your payer's policy before submitting any claim. The app is not responsible for any billing outcome, denial, overpayment, or underpayment.
- EHR connector. If you connect the app to your practice's EHR, you represent that you have the right to do so and that the connection uses read-only, appropriately scoped credentials. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the EHR connection, its credentials, and for complying with all laws (including HIPAA, where applicable) and your practice's policies regarding patient information. WrenScribe is a read-only client of a system you operate and does not itself act as your business associate with respect to that system's records unless you separately contract otherwise.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree that you are solely responsible for:
- keeping your device, models, and the app secure, including your use of the on-screen PIN;
- complying with all applicable laws and professional duties, including patient privacy obligations (for example HIPAA) in your jurisdiction;
- independently verifying all output before use; and
- ensuring your use of any third-party EHR or reference service complies with that service's terms and your legal obligations.
6. Intellectual property
WrenScribe, its design, and original content are the property of WrenScribe's owner. The on-device models are licensed from their respective sources and remain subject to those licenses. All trademarks and logos belong to their respective owners.
7. Warranties and disclaimers
WrenScribe is provided "AS IS." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output is accurate or complete. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; the limits above may not apply to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use WrenScribe, including any reliance on the app's output for clinical or billing decisions. Our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for it (the App Store price at the time of purchase). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or remedies; the above limits may not apply to you.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our providers from any claim, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of WrenScribe in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or from your use of the EHR connector.
10. Termination
You may stop using WrenScribe at any time (for example, by deleting the app). We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) survive termination.
11. Changes
We may change WrenScribe or these Terms. A material change will be reflected in a "Last updated" date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Contact us at or via the contact page on wrenscribe.com.
