Support
Questions about WrenScribe, the EHR connector, or how your data is handled? Email us at .
WrenScribe has no telemetry, no account system, and no crash reporting, so your only way to reach us (and ours to help you) is that mailbox. We read it directly.
What to include in a support email
To help us (and you) move fast, include:
- The WrenScribe version (from the ⋯ menu → About).
- The macOS version (Apple menu → About This Mac).
- What you were doing when it went wrong, and when (a date/time helps).
- Anything relevant from the ⋯ menu → Audit trail (a non-PHI event log; an exported CSV is attached-friendly).
Please do not paste transcript or patient content. The app never sends anything of yours to us, and you control what a support email contains. If a question is hard to describe without it, say so and we'll suggest a safe way to describe the issue.
Common questions
"It's asking to download models on first launch." That one-time download (Whisper + a small language model) is the only step that needs a connection. Transcription, notes, and suggested codes all run on your Mac afterward. The app works fully offline.
"I can't record / the mic does nothing." Confirm System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → WrenScribe is on. The first recording attempt triggers the macOS prompt; if you missed or denied it, toggle it there and reopen the app.
"How do I connect my practice EHR (MedPlum)?" Your EHR administrator creates a read-only client application for WrenScribe and gives you three values: the MedPlum base URL, the Client ID, and the Client Secret. In the app, turn on EHR sync in the ⋯ menu and click Connect…. In-app troubleshooting lives under ⋯ → Help, and the reviewer-facing details are in the app's Help → "Optional: connect a practice EHR".
"I forgot my PIN." On the lock screen, choose Forgot PIN? The PIN is the encryption key for everything stored on this device, so a lost PIN cannot be recovered. The reset erases local sessions only. (If instead you still have your PIN but think it may be exposed, use the ⋯ menu → Reset PIN…, which keeps and re-encrypts your sessions under a new key.)
"Is my data going anywhere?" No. There is no cloud, no sync, no analytics, and no account. Audio, transcripts, notes, and saved recordings stay on your device behind your PIN. The full description is in our Privacy Policy.
Not medical advice
WrenScribe is a documentation and reference aid for clinicians. It does not diagnose, treat, or direct care. If a question is about a clinical decision or a billing outcome, your records, your payer, and your professional judgment are the authority, not the app, and not this page.
